I drove to work 11 miles and sat in the car for about 15 minutes before walking into work . I came out to go home and the car was completely dead , drained battery. I have a battery jumper and tried to jump it . Only i put the red to red and the black to the chassis. When i do that my battery charger says wires are crossed backwards. How does this happen. ran great to work , lots of power and then zero? any ideas? I have a second battery for the stereo system and that battery is at 12.4, I'm clueless here. Right now im charging the battery. But when i tried to jump it at the car battery itself, it did the same thing. Acts like a dead ground. This is in a 95 riviera 3.8 supercharge coupe. Also looking for a obd 1 tech 1 scanner if anyone has one . I'm also needing a supercharger actuator 12480246. any answer would greatly be appreciated> Doug

You are describing a totally dead battery. Remove it and have it tested at an auto parts store. It may need to be replaced.

There are plenty of OBD1-OBD11 scanners available. I use the one in the link below. Actron 9690. It has SRS & ABS capability also. It is shown as no longer available, so they must have a newer version. Check Fleebay, you may find a used one.
