I like having a spare door anywhere I go. Then if I'm stuck out in the desert, I can take it with me as I walk along, and roll the window down if it gets too hot.

We all wish these Buicks had swappable parts. We should all thank GM for making each rear view mirror different enough in each Buick model. I love when GM put the map lights inside specially the Regal's rear view mirror , especially with ones equipped with auto dim.

Edit: I also love when GM decided that base Lesabres get no tach. I'm sure old people technically don't need a tach, but do they need a speedo that goes up to 140MPH? Who cares if anybody needs a tach or not, its a luxury car with a "modern" computer. There's gonna be a new trend in the future of people hot rodding these lesabres and adding tach's like its the 1950s again.

Whether one needs or wants a tach is not age-dependent.

I added one to my 1964 Mercury Park Lane so I could see what was going on. I also added mechanical gauges under the dash because the electric ones moved way too slowly to indicate real-time events.

I have a factory tach in all 3 of my cars, and I use it all the time in all 3. I'm glad my 2005 LeSabre Limited has a tach. I would find a way to add one if it didn't.

Considering how GM operated, its not surprising. The only reason my 1990 Oldsmobile had a tach was because it had the very expensive and fancy feature that was new, the Driver Information Center. If not, it was only a Fuel Gauge and a wide sweep Speedometer.

It’s amazing how a stupid question spiraled into a discussion about tachs and other unrelated things.
You under-estimate the power within these walls (of the asylum)

so your 1999 Regal has the map lights and auto dim rear view mirror? does it have compass and/or temperature outside?
Adding to my list of cars to steal useful rear views from lol

It doesn't have the compass. The outside temperature display is on my digital climate controls.
