We have a 2011 Regal/Opel turbo that might be having a bit of a problem so I thought I would ask around.

The car has 7000 km on it now and from new if you are cruising at say 100km or 60 mph and you take your foot off of the gas, on a flat road, the car will start to downshift from 6th to 5th and so on within about 10 seconds of taking your foot off of the gas.

Doesn't sound like a good way to increase fuel economy to me!

Our other cars and even our 22,000 lb motorhome will coast allot farther and usually will not downshift until to you get to about 1/2 the original speed.

The dealer says "Normal" (of course) Is it me?

I have felt this on the off ramps. I will have to try it on the e-way.

I noticed that too even in average speed range, it seems that Aisin automatic tranny for turbo is downshift-happy powertrain. 😕
