Driver side mirror replacement

Looking to replace a damaged driver side mirror.
Can just the mirror pop out and be replaced. Or do you need to replace the entire side mirror assembly?
Can't seem to find any good info online about this repair.

Edges of the LH mirror have started to discolor. I ordered the glass only. Does anyone here have experience with the innards of the mirror? The diagrams indicate that the glass is separate. It appears that it can be replaced.

Note that the Lucerne has various mirrors heated, auto dimming and turn signal so be mindful when looking for replacement.

Thank you for the link. It still isn't 100% clear if you pop the old mirror off and pop the new one on. Or if it's more of a pain.
I ordered the replacement mirror that comes in a new frame with what looks like tabs on the back. I'm hoping it's a simple 5min pop in and out job.

and if replacing the entire mirror assembly; it matters if the vehicle has memory seats or not (cars with memory seats have additional positioning circuitry in the actuators to assist with the memory function as well as the Park Tilt Personalization feature!)

MIRROR FACE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. CAUTION: Refer to Eye Protection Caution in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: The mirror back is made so that the bottom edge fits into a slot and clip in place. This allow the mirror to rotate.

Carefully push the mirror face toward the front of the car and downward on the inner edge, near the front door window glass, to allow access.

2. Grasp the mirror face back and firmly pull it away from the mirror motor and housing.It will be necessary to use a sharp jerking motion to release it from the housing.
3. Lift the mirror back up and out to release the lower tabs.
4. Disconnect the heated mirror wires, if equipped.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the heated mirror wires, if equipped.




2. Using the palm of your gloved hand, press firmly on the center of the glass until the case seats onto the motor.The mirror will make a snapping noise when properly seated.
3. Inspect the mirror for proper operation.
