1997 Riviera SC
Hello all,

I have a 97 Riviera sc, and am looking for a computer. A local junkyard just received a 1995 sc, and I am wondering if it would be compatible?

I called the biggest local GM dealer, and spoke with the parts guy. He said to call a shop that works on classic cars, because his computer system didn’t have any answers, as the part is discontinued.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Compare the part number of yours to what they have.
Have you looked at these

IIRC, the '95 was a series-1 engine & the '97 was a series 11 engine. so the PCM would be different. '95 PCM's had the old OBD1.5 programming and the '97 was OBD 2. Just something to be aware of with what you are looking for!

The 95 is not compatible. According to this Ebay Auction, 96-99 is.

Maybe take a chance with this one?

The '96 OBD11 was the first year of that particular computer and the '97 was a totally different programming animal. You need to narrow down the search down to '97-'98 year.
