I'm going to get my windows tinted. Legal limit for front driver and passenger windows in the state of Ohio is 50%. I noticed that the little label from the glass manufacturer says that the glass is "minimum 70% transparency" Does that mean that the glass is already tinted to 70% from the factory and if I apply a 50% tint on top of that I will be below the legal limit? Or is that just a standard label that is applied by the Fuyao factory to all the glass that goes out the door? Anybody have any clue?

Also, anybody here spring for Ceramic tint? If so, how much extra did it cost? Opinions on whether its worth it?

I'm pretty sure they do come from the factory with a slight tint on them for UV protection (70 percent sounds right)... I will say that i am from Ohio also, i have 30 percent on top of the factory and i have had zero problems from the local pd or state highway patrol.

I'm pretty sure I did ceramic, but it's been about 3 years since I bought the Regal and had it done. The local shops will (or should) know what the legal limits are in your jurisdiction --you could perhaps go a bit darker on the backlight and the rear window, lighter in the front. And it may be possible to have them do a darker band at the top of the windshield.

It certainly seems to help with the savage sunlight around here. Of course I also put up reflective sunshades front and back if I'm leaving the car for any length of time. Tinting is a good idea, too, to prevent sun fading of your interior.
