Finally! GM Sued Over Shifter Malfunctions

The original class action alleges that GM breached new vehicle warranties by failing to fix the issue.

No mention of the Regal in that article.
Probably because so few were sold in comparison to the other models.
I know it's been an issue with some Regal owners.
 
I would have hoped someone who included the same era Chevy Malibu's in the suit would have looked to see what other sedans (us with the Regal) used the same components.

yeah....I have a 2018 Regal Tour X and this has certainly been an issue. I had a new battery put in and while gone on a week's vacation, came back car would not start and thought it was the battery. So AAA came out and recharged the battery which was under warranty (wouldn't take a jump from my jumper cables) but AAA got it going. After that happened realized that the car very often said "shift to park" after I turned car off and car was already in park....so now I know to put my foot on brake and jiggle shifter. But pretty sure that I didn't catch that before my vacation and caused the battery to die. Happens quite often and I'm disappointed to see it is not in the service bulletin...again, not that many were sold.
