Lucerne CXL
I've have a 06 Lucerne CXL 3.8 series 3 that I was seeing an active leak of coolant from the area of the notorious plastic elbows/water pump/lower radiator arm area. One of the plastic elbows had already been replaced by previous owner, water pump looks replaced as well. Checked lower rad arm no cracks. So I am thinking that O ring on the newer SS arm that was replaced went bad. Anyways, as I was putting everything back in the ground wire broke and then the wire harness was broken as I was putting things back together. So I have to either buy the new part from Dorman pt no. 645-688, albeit Dorman's website says this part doesn't match my vehicle, and this seems to be the only parts dealer that offers this discontinued part which also matches what I took out of my car, from GM or buy used from junkyard or try to splice back together, which I am leaning towards. Does anyone else know where I can find this specific part. TIA

I would repair it. The wiring looks simple enough and as long as the connectors are in good shape you should be good. The part you list from Dorman is really expensive. I am seeing 100.00+ on that. Thats a crazy price for something like that. So, It leads me to believe that most people just repair them.

As with other GM Lucerne parts this is MIA for some time. Check a GM parts site for your year vehicle and confirm the GM part number, most GM sites have a vehicle fitment list which will show all the GM models it was used. The list can be used for other GM models for parts beyond the Lucerne at the pick and pull places.
