Gear Shift Indicator

96 Lesabre Custom. Everything works except the Cassette player.....and now the gear shift indicator 😒
Virginia.
You are required to have a annual Safety inspection.
This vehicle is driven to work and back home.
BARELY 3 k in a year.

My Inspection netted a "rejection".
Because my "gear shift indicator" is broken.
WHAT ???
Yes. My vehicle got rejected because the Inspector could not tell what gear the vehicle is in.
Yeah SMH.

So......
I need to fix it.
Please..... Don't laugh.
Contacting a local Buick dealership has let me know that parts to repair this......thing, is no longer manufactured.
Wow.
That being said....

Anybody have any idea as to where I can start searching ?

Have not begun to destroy vehicle to see exactly WHAT needs to be replaced.
In Virginia this vehicle is capable of having "Antique" tags. Where the vehicle does not need to have an annual inspection. This Can be an advantage for older vehicles. BUT....... many restrictions and a possible inability to drive this vehicle onto a Government facility where I occasionally work.

So..... HELP.

Yours should be mechanical. Look for a spring clip attached to a thin cable like fishing line that goes from the cluster and clips onto the steering column. Clip may have come off
