gearbox doesnt go in 1th drive but Manual 2 and 3 work issue

Good afternoon everybody,

Hope you all can help my friend. We are living on a small island, Sint Eustatius (Dutch Caribbean) where we dont have a garage where we can go to.

She ownes a Buick Encore 2017.

The gearbox doesnt engage in "drive" the indicator next to the shifter shows Drive but nothing happening. It is not stuck in Park because the car can roll forward and backwards.
When you use the manual option, 1st gear doesnt work but 2 and 3 works.

Did someone else had this problem and can guide us how to solve it?

We are living on this island with 3000-3500 people and we dont have any dealerships what so ever!

I would start by checking the electrical connections for corrosion, since you live on an island surrounded by salt water.

How did you determine that? You need a special code reader to check the transmission.

Hi, I have a xpad 100 and gearbox doesnt give any faultcode.

when i put it in 1st gear with the computer and i give a good amount of throttle it moves a bit forward. It loops like the "plates" are slipping.
