I bought a new computer for my GN. Is it possible that its bad? Is there anyway I can test it to find out? If it is bad, does anyone know where I can get a cheap one?

If you have a GM FSM there is a procedure in there to check the ICM with a volt/ohm meter after you get it out and unplugged. Most troubles I've had with these early ICM is bad connections mainly at the ICM. The ends that plug in these connectors are "L" shaped and lose contact real easy with the circuit board in the ICM.

Thanks. I will defintely check that out. Is it possible that I just got a bad computer?

Did it come with the prom chip installed? If not you will have to use your old one.

It didnt. But from where i redid the motor I bought a new chip to put in the computer. I have tried my old one and the new one. Neither one will work.
