2020 black Regal GS
I just sat in a new 2020 GS, and am a bit concerned about the overall seat firmness. I could feel the stiff seat side leg bolsters (on bottom cushion - not the adjustable ones for your back and body) on my thighs, and it also felt better with the manual seat lengthener fully extended. Full Disclosure; I am not a skinney minney - 5'10" and 215 lbs. So just looking for others of similar stature to hopefully say good things about these seats. Do they soften at all over time perhaps ? I do recall other posts months back sounding good, but could not find them using the search function . . . . . Thanks,

No experience with the seats but if you find they don't work for you I am sure you could find someone to swap with you.

I have a TourX, not a GS, but I am the same size as you and find my seats very comfortable. I have heard that the GS seats are even better, so I suspect that you'll be fine.

Have a 2018 GS, my seats are probably the most comfortable I have ever sat in. You have to play with the seat extender a little (wish it was power like my old C300 Merc, and yes, I got rid of a Merc to get my GS), but the sliding bolsters give me the feeling that I'm wrapped up safely. Of course, I buy the GS and Buick decides to stop importing them, just like when I got my 1974 Opel, Buick decides to have them built in Japan, not an Opel any more.

I'm about the same height and find the thigh extension most comfortable in the first detent. I've tried it all the way out, and occasionally change to that on long trips (4 hours+), but think extending less is far more comfortable on day-to-day basis.

I am 40lbs lighter, but don't have an issue with the side bolsters on the seat. In fact, I feel like other seats are too flat/soft now. FWIW - I've had cars with some level of sport bolstered seats for the last 20 years or so. I don't think these have softened over the 10K+ miles I've had the car. You definitely put some pressure on the outside one when exiting, so I would expect at least that side will change over time.

Check out my take on the GS seats in the this thread: A Little Seat Surgery
Some others also provide some input on the GS and standard seats here as well.

I find the seat bottom bolsters to be on the narrow side and it causes a bit of a hotspot on my hips over time (2+ hour drives). But... For short daily trips, they're perfect. I love the adjustment of the seat and seat back bolsters, heating/cooling, and massaging.

They fit like a glove, but if you are looking for a ton of cushion, I'd steer towards the standard seats. Even with the hotspots, I prefer my GS seats. I feel like I am sitting in them not on them. It's like being hugged every time you hop in the car. Of course, this is subjective.

I absolutely love the seats - 6'2", 215. We have mostly owned Audi/VW vehicles and these seats are just as good. The same goes for my wife at 5'9" and 135. We both always drive with the leg support fully out. We only have the car since last Sept, but we have multiple 4 hours trips and the seats have not given either one of us any pain. We "fight" over taking the car and the other choice is a recent Touareg (which we love). 😉

I’m sorry that I can’t speak for the new GS seats, but I can tell you that my ‘11 turbo and my present’13 GS seats are awesome for long trips especially. I’ve had 9 hour days and of course I’m tired but not from the seats. The new GS seats are endorsed by some European group for backs.

I really am disliking my TourX essence seats. The support is just about right and perfect. But the side bolstering is too aggressive, really annoying and the space between the bolsters is very narrow. Spoils my impression about the rest of the car.

I personally love the seats, they aren't hardcore but even more aggressive then my friends old 2017 Camaro SS 1LE, I find after a long drive the bottom cushion is a little hard but I've had less comfortable before, I'm only 5'11 and 160 pounds buuut it seems people, especially with thicker hips like women don't like the seats because of the tightness. But overall the seats were one of the selling points for me.

I have a 3/4" foam cushion thta I have to place on the bucket seat because the seat bolster bite into my hips and causes some pain over time. In essence, the buckets s/b wider. The most comfortable buckets in a car owned were in a black 1990 Bonneville SSE .

Europeans tend to prefer more firm seats so that's what we got. The lower seat bolstering is also tighter as you found. I've done a 1000+ mile road trip in mine and I'm pretty comfortable, but I'm 5'9" 170 lbs. Just have to get used to not being able to spread your legs open as much.

We had a 2018 GS and Loved the seats. It took a little getting used to them, but we really liked them. Not having the car anymore the one thing we really miss are the seats! And other things too

The Car was Designed to run on the Autobahn all day in Comfort... Those AGR/Recaro Seats are the Best. I love em. I sit in them and they warp around Me It's Heaven. Now due to the fact they wrap around you the Cooling feature is nice in the Summer..it feels like someone slipped some dry ice under the Seat.Superb.

My GS seats seemed a bit firm at first, but after a couple weeks, they felt great. Now it's over a year later and these are the most comfortable seats I've ever had.

I have a 2018 GS and I'm 5'10.5 at 260lbs. I guarantee you those AGR sport seats are the best seats I've been in, only coming short of those in the S4 (due to the better leather in the Audi). They have much adjustability that will fit you no matter what you wear, and have enough support for long trips. The driving position is spot on.
One advantage of the poorer quality leather in the Buick is that it is quite slippery so it doesn't catch your cloths, and they are quite cool to the feel in summer. I hate the way Alcantara and some leathers used by other companies (e.g. Kia Stinger) catch your cloths and make it difficult to keep the trousers in place while you adjust yourself in the car. I know they are designed to be grippy but that isn't so necessary for 99% of the time for normal people.

the problem lies with the fact that the hard padded edges of the seat bottoms dig into my hips & that is why i place a thick enough pad on the seat base to alleviate the pain that happens over loner distances. The buckets seats need to be an inch wide on the base.

I realize that TourX's seats are different than the GS. But seat bolster width has also been a complaint.

FWIW - I find them more comfortable now then when I bought the car. Either I've gotten used to the bolster width or they have relaxed outward over time... It's certainly NOT because my ass has gotten any smaller!

Just want to report back to everyone, since I originally posted : Got a Black 2020 GS with all the nice stuff -great car ! The seats are in fact real nice for me, although with all that is going on, I still have not hit 500 miles yet. They do keep you from spreading out per se - but very nice comfort. My wife and I also do like the seat massage function.

I owned a 1998 Regal GS and those seats were super comfortable!
