Help finding a part. can't let my wagon die!!!

Hey Everyone, I'll start by saying it's great there are so many of us Buick people out there. I have a major problem, my fan belt tensioner for my '94 roadmaster estate is shot and it's unfortunately the discontinued ACDelco 10186118 part. I can't find the part for sale ANYWHERE. Has anyone found a suitable replacement? Or a work around for the issue? I absolutely adore this car and don't want to drive anything else. she's only got a little over a hundred thousand miles and I know she has a lot of life left in her.

Thank you for the Amazon link, but that is not the tensioner/pulley that the OP is talking about which was "ACDelco 10186118"! Totally different animals.

I had the exact same problem with that tensioner....my mechanic just replaced the fan, pulley, tensioner, belt and all with a nice simple snap-in thermostat controlled electric fan for $200!.....that was 2 years ago and it works like a charm!.... Less noise, vibration, better mileage....fan only comes on occasionally in warm weather/heavy slow traffic. Another big advantage is that without all that rotating stuff up front it's much easier to clean/inspect/replace water pump, etc...

On my 1994-1996 Roadmasters with the mechanical fan, I always convert them to the dual electrical fan. There are harnesses especially made for this conversion.

Yep, mine has 2 fans now....it works so well with this set-up!!!

Do you have any links to the "Katech tensioner" or any pics of the tensioner in question? If that is the one the OP is looking for, that would be great!!

A friend used one about a decade ago on a later GM v8 when he had trouble with pitching belts. Not sure if it would fit but...
