In January I handed over the keys of my 2012 Regal Premium III to my son. Last week he had a minor accident. Passenger fender dented, bumper ripped off and passenger headlight mounts all broken. I think we can do the repairs ourselves. Found a matching 2012 Regal fender, same silver color. I am pretty confident we can remount the bumper cover..some minor damage, the foglight on passenger side mounts broken and a few clips ripped but otherwise seems doable. The headlight is a particular question I have. My Premium 3 has the xenon headlights. I'm seeing salvage prices from like 500 to $1000 for the headlight. but I'm finding aftermarket replacements for $225-250 that say they're for the HID headlamp (have the DRL LEDs...) on Amazon or other sites. The wiring harness is fine. I pluggd the light in and it works so I konw the bulb and ballast are good. Am I missing something about the headlight in searching for parts?
Also interested in any tips or watchouts that you would have in making this repair? I thought about getting a quote from a body shop to repair with salvage parts but honestly part of this experience is making my kid have some involvement in the process. 🙂
