I need to replace a broken passenger side mirror on a 1992 roadmaster sedan and I need to remove the passenger inside door panel. Can some one please explain what is involved in doing this?
Any special tools required? Any hazards to look out for? I don't have a repair manual.
I searched the forum looking for information, but did not find much.
Any help is appreciated

2 screws going down thru the arm rest. Remove
2 screws thru the pull handle. Remove
1 screw in the trim plate under the door latch, remove.
1 screw in the door panel thru the carpet into the door. About 2-3 inches from the aft end of the panel. (good luck finding it)
Use a proper door panel pry bar on all the plastic clips and pry out.
Roll window down and gently pull out and up on the entire panel to disengage the latches over the lip of the door frame.
There are numerous wiring bundles to disconnect before the panel can be put elsewhere.

If you are God fearing man or woman pray to whatever God you fear that it doesn't come off in pieces, which they are known to do.

Good luck. Valium helps.

This is good information as my rear passenger window seems to not be working - thank you for posting this.

You mention "proper door panel pry bar" - any more info on that?

If you've got snap on money the big tool manufacturers make some nice ones. If not, I have gotten them at the local auto store, a bit flimsy but they work OK for the weekend warrior. Basically just a forked tool you slide under the panel till you hit the clip and then slide the fork around the clip and pry. You can even make one out of a fairly stiff piece of metal.

you can find the middle one at most auto parts stores.
