I have a 1996 Park Ave with a leak coming through a spot in the little gasket that sits in between a plastic piece set in with torque screws, and the body of the car. I removed all of the torque screws, and there was a torque underneath the bumper on each side holding the silver plastic liner around the headlights but I can't get that the rest of the way off. So, now I can't see where the water is going. I've pinpointed it to that specific area since having dumped water on it and have seen where the water leaked through. But I don't know how to get in there and seal it with sealant because I can't get that plastic piece off to see in there. 🙁

Are you getting water in the tail light assembly, or in the trunk?

In the trunk. I'm not seeing any water in the tail lights. It seems to be dripping down the inside of the trunk from the back of the tail light assembly.

That is typical of the seal failure on the front side of the taillight assembly that makes contact with the body. That is is the only place in that area where water can invade the trunk. You will have to remove the complete taillight section to seal that. The original seals shown as shown as item #26 in the link below is what you would need to replace that. Unfortunately, and as shown in the following link, that seal is no longer available from GM. The only option is to get creative and apply sealer to both sides of the gasket with the hopes that seal will not leak. One side seal will not work! Been there and done that with success! http://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.c...1996&ukey_category=19397&ukey_trimLevel=25267
