- 2005 Lacrosse
I inherited a 2005 Buick Lacrosse with 58,000 miles on it. It was a Florida car and wasn't started up for about a year straight prior to me receiving it. I drove it for about 5,000 miles this past year and it experienced its' first winter in New York. This winter coming up will be the cars' second winter. I'll also be driving a lot more soon.
I ended up having to replace the water pump and power steering rack this past week. It went from feeling every bump in the road, to driving extremely smooth. Was a fairly expensive repair but I'm happy with it. Much cheaper than buying or leasing a new car. For a 15 year old car, soon to be 16, it drives really well.
Last winter we didn't see much snow in Southern New York.. Kind of wondering how this car does in the snow. It's heavy so I assume it'll handle itself well. Maybe I'll throw a cinderblock or two in the trunk because of the front wheel drive..
I really want to install some new speakers because a few of them aren't working. I don't know. I think I'm going to drive this thing as long as I can. I would like to throw some money into it because I believe it might last me a long time if I continue caring for it.
What do you guys think?
