ICM Mounting Bracket Coil Screw Holes Not Threaded

I ordered a new ICM mounting bracket for my 2001 LeSabre but the holes for the screws that hold the coils on are not threaded so there is no way to attach the coils to the bracket.

Has anyone else run into this and is the easiest thing to do is just get a tap and thread the holes myself? Parts department says it’s the correct bracket.

Those have to be tapped as you are thinking.

Thanks! I’ll just tap the holes myself.

Yep, it’s an unusual part to replace but I broke several of the cooling fins when doing the UIM/LIM. I found the new part for $15 so it was a cheap fix.

I've done 5 or 6 UIMs and have never broken that pedestal/mount. I don't think it has to be removed.
