Buick Ownership
2015 Encore
Just wondering if Buick has ever addressed the problem with the volume going out on the IntelliLink system. Our 2015 Buick Encore now has this issue and can not be fixed. It needs to be replaced. They want to replace it with the same system, which will more than likely fail again. They want $1800 to replace it. How are people dealing with this? Now we have paid services that we can't even use, and no volume for anything in the car. Why won't Buick and GMC address this ongoing issue? They are losing customers left and right by what I can see.

Have they checked for software updates?
Have you done a reset to factory settings?

I've been on this forum for 3 years and I have not heard of this being an issue. You're out of warranty, and unfortunately if something isn't called out under special warranty extensions, or a safety recall, you have to pay for it.

Thanks for the reply. I have called around and most dealers want to charge $140/hr. or more. Only the dealer can update the software from what I have found out. I'm guessing that I'll have to just go in and have it done as nothing else seems to even touch on fixing the problem.

Thanks for the reply. If you google "volume problems with Buick Encore" or something similar, you actually will find that this is a big issue with a lot of GMC vehicles, not just the Encore. GMC seems to not want to address the issue with the IntelliLink system. We have an extra warranty through the dealer, but it would only cover it if it something needed to be replaced. Most people on the forums have taken their car in to be fixed and after leaving the dealer, the sound goes out again. It appears to be a software problem. I'm hoping that I can find a place to update the software for a reasonable price. So far, no luck.

You can check your last version of software if you go into system. You could compare with others on here to see where you stand. Here are my updates and how to get there in config.

You could also do a back to factory reset.

And if you go into "Licensing Information" there's 2 sites listed for Panasonic, I haven't checked these since I don't have a problem with mine but they may have an update that you can download to a USB key and then you may be able to do "Update Radio Software" but like I said I haven't checked this out yet.
