Hey everyone. My name is Chris and I own a 16 Regal (premium). Purchased this car as a necessity in 2019 with ~50k miles. I got a decent deal and am comfortable/familiar with GM vehicles. I planned on keeping this vehicle a short time before trading for something else. I grew to love this thing!
Fast forward a few years and I currently have a job that requires extensive travel. I do between 40 and 50 thousand miles a year. Currently sitting at 142076 on the clock. The goal is 270k and then assess the vehicle situation (I have kids and by then the oldest will need a car). I am paid mileage so I’m not too awfully concerned about wear and tear vs profits. Besides oil changes/basic maintenance, tires and brakes, I’ve had to do very little work to this car. That window I’m sure is starting to close.
I started using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum after needing out to The Motor Oil Geek YouTube channel. I used Mobil 1 before that in all of my vehicles.
I used to browse forums years ago before family life. I’m here to research common issues, preventative maintenance and other useful information to extend the life of this vehicle.
I look forward to interacting with other Buick owners.
Edit: I figured I would add the issues I am experiencing.
-door locks/ remote issue: assuming water is making its way past the seals in the door jam.
-cylinders 3 misfires: just not enough to throw a code.
-rpm bouncing intermittently at idle and cruising around 30: vacuum leak??
