The ignition key fails to come out out of the steering column. The car runs fine, but when I put it in park and try to remove the key, I can only turn the key to the accessories and then it will not allow me to go any further to remove the key. I removed the plastic cover of the steering column and manually over road The switch such that I can remove the key so it doesn’t drain my battery. There must be something wrong in the steering column or the shifter in the center council. There must be some sort of a contact that’s faulty as it believes that I’m not in Park when I actually am in Park. Does anybody know how to fix this.
