Hello everyone,

First thank you to all who have added such valuable info to each other. I'm one who benefited from it and keep my 2004 Le Sabre Ltd going well. About 4 years ago my in-laws sold us the car with 100K on it, but mint. It's the pearl white with 17" chrome wheels and while I take more than my share of abuse for driving grandpa's car we really like it. (We have a 2 yr old Odyssey but take the Buick) It's been very good and in 4 years we've added 50K miles. Recently the engine light came on. I have the Pocket Scan Plus and found code PO332, Knock Sensor 2, circuit low input bank 2. Well after a trip Auto Zone I decide to change it. If you haven't had the chance to do this give yourself time. I loosened the two bolts holding the surrounding bracket. Again, rear side, firewall side of engine from underneath with exhaust manifold and transmission in the way. I then was able to get a deep socket on the sensor, after many tries and inventing a new language, removed it. Following a post once that said you MUST drain the cooling system first I did!! No coolant dripped out!!

With flashlight looked at hole and it was black crud. Poked it and Niagara Falls came out. The Auto Zone part was a perfect match, then took the extremely long time to get it re-installed only after inventing another language. Once installed, decided to remove the front one and check the crud count, and Niagara Falls was also waiting after digging out the crud.

8 hours later with new rear sensor installed, oil changed, coolant system flushed and refilled with Dex Cool I was pleased. I had experienced the symptoms of rough running, poor mileage, and the mileage meter was reading 13 mpg instead of 17+mpg around town.

Problem: Engine light comes again, same exact reading, new sensor in place. Erase codes, last about 1 day, light comes on again, same PO332, check wires for breaks. Have read what I can but unsure of what to do next. Driven for a week, mileage still 14.3 to 14.8 mpg on meter. Loss of power. Can no longer blast a civic off the road with "grandpa's car" . Thoughts????

Any help would be appreciated very much!! And thank you!!!

Did you clean (sanitize) the terminals connected to the knock sensor? If not, that may be the problem? Corroded terminals will not conduct the proper voltage to the PCM.

Yes, I did check for any corrosion of any kind. Last night I deleted the code and with in 5 miles of driving to work the light came on. I'm beginning to think of the odds of the "new" sensor being faulty. I've seen the test procedure on the internet so I guess I'll try it. Thanks for the reply!
