Anybody take one of these off? I'm about to on mine.
Mines cracking and just looks horrible, I found a mint one at the junkyard. I'll have to paint it white, Ive used good vinyl application paint in the past, should come out good.

Looks easy enough anyway.

Ok, no replies here. That means Ill have to video my removal for others that may be inclined, stay tuned.

It looks like you have a good diagram showing the procedure. Let us know how it goes!

I would appreciate if you did. Mine is ok but starting to crack, was never crazy about the look even if it was mint. I'm afraid to see what it looks like under there.

IMG_5718.webpI pulled a mint condition Landau Top from the junk yard today, I didn't video it, but will when I take mine off. No sense taking mine off and screwing up only to not be able to get the donor off.
So removing from the car took 20 mins because of the opera lights, I remove them from the trunk by the way, if you have long arms and eyes on your hands, you can lie on your back in the trunk and reach up there with a 10mm wrench, all you need to do it start the nut for removal you can take it off with your hand.
Many people think the Landau Top is part of the roof and cant be removed, including the guy at the junkyard. I told him bullshit it comes off, should have seen his face when I walked it in the door.
The pictures; Roof without Landau top, Landau top removed at the yard, Landau top cleaned and ready to paint, White one is on my car and is hideous, it will be removed. I will video that process.

Wow, and thank you for the great post and pics! Once you get the top re-coated, send some pics. I think you may need to replace the landau roof with new vinyl topping. That top is getting old and needs new vinyl installed?

The one i took from the junk yard will be painted white with vinyl paint. Then I will remove the bad one and replace with the one I grabbed.

I'm looking for the plastic clips that fit in the chrome. If you have anymore clips I would love to buy them from you.plz let me know...

I haven't any clips, in my case, once they are used and or taken off and reused they aren't the same.

Quick question for you, I've got a 1993 buick century with a landau roof. Do you know what type of adhesive I might use to glue the roof material to itself? There's a sewn seam around the edge roof and the thread has worn out and come apart, so about a quart inch of fabric is blowing in the wind around the edge on most parts of the roof. I'd like to fold it back over and glue it to where it was. I'm guessing the foof material is vinyl, but I don't know for sure.
