I'm looking for some thoughts and advice regarding a leak I have. I started noticing a leak in early January and I started to watch it for a week before taking it in to the dealer. I tried crawling under the car to see where it was coming from and I couldn't find the source. The car drips on the passenger side just to the edge of the front mounted license plate and has a red tint to it. The weird part is that the car only drips when its at my apartment and hasn't been driven for over 15 hours. If I drive it every day then I don't have any leaks regardless of where I park. I took it to the dealer and they said I had a power steering leak, and a transmission gasket leak. Both were fixed, PS was out of pocket 🙁, but the trans was covered under warranty. Drive the car for almost two weeks, no leaks, all seems good. Let it sit for a few days and it starts to leak again. I dropped it off at the dealer today because I'm still under warranty (less than 1000 miles left) and they took a quick look just to diagnose it and called me to tell me that its leaking at the oil pan. I'm confused now as to how my oil pan is leaking red fluid which I believe to be transmission fluid. Does anyone have any pictures, either of their car or the service manual, that shows how close the two are so I can try to determine if its possible that its dripping from the trans to the side of the oil pan. So far the dealer has actually been pretty good to me and I have no reason to believe they are lying to me. The car is supposed to be done Monday, so I'm hoping to get some info before then and ask them a few more questions as to why this is leaking and why its only after it sits for 15+hours.

Passenger side drive axle seal? Mine weeps but not enough to drip so Buick won't replace it.

That's a thought. I'll have to try and take a look at that when I get the car back.

Is there fluid between the tranny and engine? Thought like on a manual the space between the engine and tranny is for clutch, flywheel, etc and on auto the torque converter.....

Right, I would think there would be a gasket there to seal the two. I can't say for sure where the fluid was coming from, all I could see is that it coated the bottom of the oil pan but that doesn't tell me where it's coming from.
