location exhaust camshaft position sensor 2012 buick lacrosse 3.6

It would be the one closet to the exhaust manifold on both banks of cylinders. See first diagram

just did my yesterday. had P0014 code. replaced both back sensors. only took 75 min. take air box out completely. bottom was a little pain to get out but not too bad. good luck.
 
Im so confused. I have P0014, but I thought that meant to change the Exhaust Actuator Solenoid. You guys are talking about the sensor instead... I went to AutoZone for the Actuator Solenoid, get home open it and see its the Sensor!!??? Now its Sunday night they're closed and Im losing my damn mind

The OP and Ohio Bob called it a sensor.
If you went to Autozone and correctly asked for a solenoid how did you end up with a sensor?
Never leave an auto parts store without checking what they gave you.

Yes I know its my fault. However after I saw this thread it stopped me in my tracks anyway. So I did some more searches and found that nobody really seems to be paying attention to the difference. Did you only do sensors? Or only actuators? Or both? I havent seen 1 single post or video that says anything about the difference between them
