On my 2010 Lacrosse when reverse gear is selected the outside mirrors deflect down so that you can see the road. This becomes a problem when you are pulling onto the street from a parallel parking spot and now can't see the traffic coming without slumping way down in your seat and crooking you head so that you can see whats coming in the mirror. The other alternative is to put the car in drive and wait several seconds for the mirrors to adjust back again. Is this an option that can be turned off? I like this option for the right side mirror but the drivers mirror should stay where it is at.

The mirror thing can be turned off in your vehicle personalization menu. Hit your CONFIG button > Comfort and Convenience > uncheck Tilt Mirrors . You can't customize each mirror.

I recommend breaking the driver side mirror, then it should stay put and the passenger side will move independently, easy fix 🙂

Thanks pogster and hatguy save the criticism for someone else. Isn't this why we have the forums in the first place.

Don't forget mmadden.

The manual is available online as a PDF in case you did lose yours.

Thanks John, way to throw me under the backing up LaCrosse 🙂

i shut mine off

The way my Infiniti works is only one mirror goes down. The driver, using the power mirror control, can choose which one.

The Infiniti moves much faster than the Buick.

Not at all! Don't ask any questions here. Do all the research yourself then come back and tell everyone what you learned.

Anyway despite my cynicism, I am sure there are some adults here that are willing to help, not troll the halls like they did in high school and pick on the new guys. I like the feature sometimes, but at times it can be a pain with a car with limited visibility like the LaCrosse. What you can probably do is turn off the feature per the other helpful and informative post and when you do need to use it, just manually turn the side mirror down.

Now I'll stand here and wait for a slushy to be thrown in my face.

Just speculating, but does it sound possible to disconnect the wires to the drivers mirror without losing control over it? Probably all integrated.

If you're the only driver, turn the function OFF. Set the #1 personalization setting for the way you always drive. Set the #2 position the same, except put the pass. side mirror down. Use the 1& 2 buttons when you want the reverse mirror function. Yes, it's a crappy work-around, but will do the trick.

That's what we have to do with the late model CTS-V. Go figure, a Caddy w/out reverse tilting mirrors....
