Hi:

Checking to see if anyone has experience adding the mud guards to their vehicle after purchase - these are the GM OEM mud guards I'm talking about. Anyone else add these after purchase because the vehicle didn't have them? I've got them on order and I'm looking for gotchas and tips on making the installation easier/more efficient. Any help is appreciated!

Thank you!

Not a good angle in the top one. A little better below. Not a tough job. The rear mount to existing screw holes. I used a small ratchet set. The front also uses existing holes and also pop rivets. Turning the front wheels from side to side make it easier. The dark color make them hard to see. Sorry.AB36CAD5-FDE1-4A55-BE61-48323BB96612.png

I also added the chrome hood guard. I had one on my 15 E and it did a nice job protecting the front edge of the hood. You probably noticed the chrome pillar covers on previous photos.

This was my 15. Great ride. Dealer made me a deal I couldn’t refuse.

Thanks for the replies and recommendations. I'll have to consider the chrome hood guard. Right now I'm worried about taking a drive this weekend - @340 miles total. I don't have the mud flaps on and on a white tricoat, I'm just praying I don't hit any new asphalt or painting. The mud guards can't get here fast enough!

I installed them on my 2018. Had a little trouble with the rivets on one of the front ones pulling through the piece of plastic that's supposed to clamp onto the fender. I ended up drilling out the rivets and starting over. This time I used small washers for the backer so the rivet had something hard to pull against. The rear install was simple. The instructions say to remove the tire. It can be done with the tire installed.
