The key fob tray is the small storage area behind the cup holders. If you were to lay your head on the center console and look above that tray, under the cup holder lid (which must be open to see this) you'll see 2 openings. One's on the right and the other on the left, each one about 2" wide by 3/4" tall. You can feel these if you stick your fingers up in that area. In my 2019 TourX I felt a plastic part sitting loosely in the left opening. I assumed it was some kind of cell phone holder the prior owner had placed in there somehow, instead of in an air vent. I tried to pull it out with my fingers but ended up knocking it loose and sending it into the abyss behind that area. I did have the center console partly disassembled after that but I couldn't see it. Finding it would require taking the console out in its entirety, which isn't the simplest job so I said the heck with it. Whatever it was it can no longer be seen or heard.
I took a look at another 2019 TourX recently and for kicks I reached my fingers up into that area. Surprisingly I could feel a loosely attached plastic part similar (or perhaps identical) to mine. I stopped short of dislodging it, since the car was for sale at a dealer.
Does anyone have any idea what this might be? Perhaps the sensor for the key fob? The key fob tray is where you can place your fob if its battery is low. If the battery is too low to start the car from your pocket, or wherever you keep it, you can place it in the tray and the car should start. I had to do this myself, and the car started in spite of that plastic part having fallen down behind. I don't know.....
