Need a key made 2001 Buick Century that GM no longer has

Need a key made for my 2001 Buick Century. I lost the only original key that I had. My car has been towed to a Buick dealership so they could determine which key to make. GM no longer makes that key and they cannot help me. I asked about replacing the ignition with a key that works. Again the dealership told me they cannot help me. I have not been able to find an automobile locksmith that can help me either. There has to be something that can be done right.
