- 1990 Buick LeSabre Limited
Dear Folks,
I currently own a 1990 Buick LeSabre Limited 3800, and been enjoying the 'mysterious' shut down
issues, as I am driving. I'm not sure the issue really is... but I found this article...
Phantom Stall Buick LeSabre.. Phantom Stall Buick Lesabre - Automotive Electricial Intermittents
It was very informative how to recreate the 'stall' issue.. After apparent trouble free driving,
the ECM is suspected of failing and the O2 sensor showing 'lean' codes.. I was on my way to
another town, when the Buick totally shutdown... The Temp and Brake light was lit, when I was
cranking the engine, after waiting several minutes, the Buick fired back up, and drove at slower
speeds. If the brake booster, is worn out, and then when I got home, it was running high and low idle.
I did drive with the high beams on, and driving between 65-80mph.. (driving at night) I checked for
leaks or issues, but had to wait for it to cool down or it was ready to start up again. I drove back at low beams, and between 50-60 mph... The Buick LeSabre is at 273,000 miles.. It was bought used, by my half-brother, and it had been an exemplary back up car... I guess, I might need to swallow my pride and look for a 'newer' LeSabre?
I live in Central Texas, and like to know what the going price is for a 1991-2003 Buick LeSabre? I do
currently own a 1994 Buick Century Special, 3100 but the head gasket is blown.. It was my Dad's car when he served in the Navy Reserve..
The only other vehicle, I own is a 1982 Ford Granada "L" with an inline 3.3 Liter.. the neutral
safety switch wire was broken, when I didn't see a dead carcass on the highway.. The wiring was
rebuilt, but that's another story.
Thank You,
