Need help with my 2005 Lacrosse transmission please.

My 2005 lacrosse just showed a check engine light. Code Number is PO716. Input shift speed sensor. The part is easily available. The only thing is I cannot locate it on the transmission or any websites to replace this sensor. I think it is internal where the output sensor is easily accessible. Is there anyone that can help me navigate this. How difficult is this to replace? Please advise. Thank you.

The 4T65E speed sensor is located on the passenger side, down below the #2 plug next to the firewall. Very seldom do they ever fail internally! Has the car been exposed to harsh environments. such as high water levels, or deep snow?

Thank you for the comments. The output sensor is on the back passenger side which is easily accessible. The input sensor is the one I will need to feel with. That one I finally found on line. It is located inside the case on the driver side. It looks like I will have to crack the case open. Looks like there is enough room to tip the case sideways and up to pull it out after watching the video I found. Thank you to all who responded. 👍
