Need suggestions 2016 regal turbo P0089

I have had the high pressure fuel pump replaced after the car threw code P0089. Got the car back and the check engine light turned on after driving it about 90 miles. Took it back to the mechanic and and it was the same code, P0089. They drove it around while it was hooked up to a tool of some sort to get readings (?) and the car ran fine. Got the car back and the check engine light came on again after about 150 miles. It has the same code, P0089. The car has about 123,000 miles on it. Is anyone else having this issue?

Similar issue my 2015 regal lost acceleration engine light steady on. O’reilly code showed high pressure fuel pump. Private shop and Buick dealer said either probably sensor in high pressure pump ($600 - $800) or secondary sensor ($400 - $600). Need advanced scanner to show which ($175). In your case since they replaced pump could be secondary sensor. They have to remove intake or exhaust manifold to get at it. Hundred dollar part but lots of labor. After O’Reilly stop, Car went back to normal operation. Engine light went off a few hours later. Either dodged the bullet or just the beginnings of problems.
