Installed new LED lights today. White during the day and light blue when the headlights are on. Might not keep the light blue, will leave it for a while. It didn't come with mounting instructions.

The back of the light had small tabs so I assumed the small grill had to be removed which I didn't do.

I came up with an idea to some how adhere two bolts to the back of each light so they would go through the small grill, then put a small washer and nut to hold it in place. The back of the light is a plastic/smooth rubber material. I sanded the back to roughen it up and tried JB weld which did not stick to that material. Also tried one made by Loctite and that failed. Finally got it to stick well with Shoe Goo 😵

I added a waterproof connector, just in case the bumper has to be removed.

Used two diodes to isolate the two power connections to avoid any possible back-feed.

I didn't want to cut into the headlight harness for the connections. Instead, I went into the fuse box and used #54 for the ignition source and #49 for the headlight trigger (didn't connect amber turn signal). Used a bolt next to the fuse box for the ground.

Nice write up, for others these types may also help in a more easier hook up in the fuse box.

Thanks ! Yes, fuse taps make it alot easier. Always connect the tap to the cold side of the fuse. Remove the fuse and probe each side where the fuse was plugged in to with a test light or meter. Connect it to the side that does NOT have voltage . If something would go wrong the fuse will blow 😉

I've used them to prevent me from doing something stupid and trying to avoid that "Oh Crap" moment with modern electronics LOL.

Have you had any issues with these lights yet? Figured maybe you would have to put a higher amp fuse in at least.

No issues (knock on wood). These LED's do not draw that much current, but they are bright.
Even the wire that is connected to the lights is very thin gauge.
