Ok. So i've been reading the posts here and found my Fuel Pump Relay was burned; replaced that. The fuse block didn't look burned badly just scorched. Still seem to be getting good contact. Replaced the fuel pump and still no pressure. The pump isn't even turning on. The fuse is good. What else would cause the fuel pump to stop pumping? I'm thinking there must be some other input programed into the computer that would trip it out. Any ideas out there?
Thanks for your help, ws

What model/year/trim level is your car WS?

If the relay was burned/scorched maybe a wire was burned during that time. Check the wires that attach to the fuse/relay block that would feed both the fuse and relay.

Does the fuel pump have a good ground?

Thanks, I'll take a closer look at the wiring and let you know. My car is a 2008 Buick Lucerne CXL with a 3.8L V6 with about 90K miles.

Here's a circuit diagram for the fuel pump -

I would check for power at the rear fuse block for both the F/PMP Fuse 1 20 Amp and the relay Fuel Pump Relay #57.

Then I would check the actual fuel pump connector GRY wire for 12v and BLK for ground.

Let us know if that helps.

Spriteman,
Thanks I'd been trying to find a good wiring diagram. That'll help. I'll trace the voltage and let you know.
Thanks again,

Hey chief,
I woke up this morning and thought about the gas guage... The gas guage on the dash is working properly which comes from the sending unit on the fuel pump. Should have a good ground and power. I'll check the fuse block closer after work today. One of my friends suggested I wire the fuel pump relay outside the fuse box. That might be more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks,
ws

Hey folks,
I finally got time to take the fuse block out and check for continuity. As you told me it is bad. I ran the part number on ebay and found a new one for $100. It'll be delivered Tuesday. Will keep you posted.
Thanks for your help,
WS

Hey guys,
Sorry it took me so long to get back here. The new fuse block fixed the trouble. The first run with it the fuel pump relay got pretty warm but then after that not so much. Don't know if it had to "settle in" or what. It's been two weeks now and no further issues.
Thanks for the help.
ws
