So I have the car up on a lift that I have access to. Yesterday this noise started and I think its transmission related. Here is a video of the car on the lift in drive.

No that isn't a engine sound, its coming from the transmission.

All I hear is what sounds like an exhaust leak

It's unfortunate. 60k miles. These transmissions are garbage.
For the tranny to go out that early it must have been abused badly by the previous owner. My first big FWD 3800 was a 1997 Bonneville. I used to drive it in a very " spirited " manner and it lasted until I junked it at 212k miles due to a terrible hit and run accident.

Who knows. But this one is toasted.

My current Buick made it to 173k before needing a rebuild.....
I have no idea how this happened. Last winter I did a drain and fill with good fluid, new filter and a transgo shift kit. Everything went well. I always and still did have a issue with the car banging into gear when I came to a brief stop and accelerated and the car also occasionally stalled when going into reverse. It never got worse, but never got better. Yesterday I was leaving somewhere and I heard this grinding sound and then it got worse until I dropped the pan today and saw metal soup.

Mine got very hard to pull out of the PARK position. I had to force it into neutral in order to push it into my garage.
Mine was shifting fine after the TransGo kit but developed the other problem so I had it towed to a Tranny shop because I was hoping that they could "free up" my gear selector.

A local shop around here that has good reviews gave me a quote today for $3,000 for a complete rebuild. I just dont know if its worth it.

IF I had to do it, with deciding to keep the car, I would ship it to the guy in Fort Wayne, Indiana (I forget the name of the shop) for their expertise. It might cost a bit more, but you'll know it's a quality job..

That said...you convinced me...I'm selling my car come spring....I am not waiting to see if I have a good tyranny or not....(damn shame, great engine.)

I'm gonna get it done. If I sell the car now with a bad tranny, ill get nothing for it. Or I can get it rebuilt and keep my car for many years to come.

Sorry to hear. Thats really low mileage to fail. Most last to 175K and over before rebuild. That's a normal retail price these days.
Yea I was shocked. I mean I knew my transmission wasn't healthy, but I didn't think this was gonna happen. The car is at the transmission shop now and will be done by next week.

Let us know how it goes...

That shop would be Triple Edge Performance in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
