2015 Buick Encore
I have a 2015 Encore that's leaking oil fast, I haven't been able to find where it leaks from, I think it's coming from the area around/above the Left side of the engine, because of The belt movement the oils is everywhere on that side, recent work done, New water pump and new cam position sensors (both), it can be the oil pan Because the leaking starts from much higher and valve cover looks dry, no oil around it, no check engine lights, no codes, however a few days ago a "knock sensor code appear but it disappeared by ir self... I'm running out of ideas and I'm afraid to take it to the dealer and end up being charge for 90% of the engine replaced before they actually find the leak, please help!!

Who did the recent work? How long ago? It's sounds like they didn't tighten something or they pinched a gasket. Take it back to them and make them pay for it.

Well actually I did the job, I'm not a certified mechanic but is not my first, I do pretty much everything on my vehicles and the water pump may be the 20th I've installed, I made sure that everything was installed correctly, it's actually a fairly easy job, belts, bolts and engine mount, you don't have to remove or disconnect nothing else, I know sometimes vehicles change the way they set up components but as much as I know there should be no oil running at the pump also there is no leaks around It or the Cam sensors

So I have had this same problem 3 times! It comes down to bad built in seals on the valve covers which are plastic. Under pressure they can cause a lot of oil to spray. I also just had to replace the actuator seals as well because they were also starting to leak. I’d be shocked if the valve cover gasket isn’t your issue though... it’s a a huge know issue on these cars especially the 15s which mine is as well. On the bright side apparently the part has been manufactured differently now so hopefully the third time is the charm for me... that will be the third gasket in a year!
