I assume its the screw on fitting that sits above the oil filter. I notice my filter has a little oil on it, had to put 2 quarts of oil in the car since oil change in december. I am starting at the oil sending unit to see if that is the culprit. It seems a little loose but god damn hard to get off with the oil filter in the way.

Anyone got any how to's to replace the oil sending unit?
Any suggestions for removal steps ? ( Emptying oil out first ?
I am assuming this is prolly bad because my oil pressure is at 129.

That image is the oil pressure sending unit - if it shows that high pressure the sensor is bad.

Replacement procedure

- Jack up front right side of car
- Support with jack stand
- Remove wheel
- Remove splash guard
- Remove electric connector from sensor
- Remove sensor with 22mm (not sure of size) with a rachet wrench

- Reverse for installation

If you haven't had an oil change in a while you might want to do an oil change while you're under there.

Your P/N is 12584940 - Here's a link to one parts site - http://parts.nalleygmc.com/showAsse...key_trimLevel=14629&searchString=oil pressure

Here's the part on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-213-1...=UTF8&qid=1393967243&sr=1-1&keywords=12584940

Hope this helps.

Do you think that is what is causing the leak? As i saw, it isnt coming from above.

Most likely yes - if I remember correctly HotZ28 has commented that a common failure point for those sensors is oil comes right out the electrical connector.

Since you are seeing the 129 PSI then I would say that the sensor is your problem.
