New to the fourms here, cant find the answer any where so hoplfully... I have a Buick Park Avenue that has an alarm going off on the dash, near constantly, telling me to change my oil.
I've looked and looked but not of the methods I have found allow me to reset it.
The manual says to use DIC (driver information center) buttons that I do not have. Any advice would be welcome

I knew I had seen a method for resetting OLM on the leSabre that did not have DIC. I found this that you can try.
Note that the engine is not running, I assume key is ON.
To reset the oil life monitor on a 2002 Buick LeSabre without a DIC (Driver Information Center), you typically need to turn the ignition to the "on" position (without starting the engine), then quickly press the gas pedal three times within a short time frame, and finally turn the ignition off; this should reset the oil life indicator on the dashboard.

Key points to remember:
  • No need to start the engine: Only turn the key to the "on" position.

  • Quick gas pedal presses: Press the gas pedal fully down three times within a few seconds.

  • Check after reset: After performing the steps, start the engine to verify the oil life indicator has reset.

Important considerations:

Thank you for the quick response, unfortunately I have tried this to no avail.

Does your RPO code tag (is it on the underside of the cardboard over the space tire in the trunk?)
show UJ2 for the oil life monitor? This may not even be relevant, but it's all I can see.

UJ2INDICATOR ENGINE OIL LIFE

I always buy used cars so I had no idea this was something I could look up! thanks for the tip 🙂
As far as I can see there is no UJ2 code on the sticker, or any other oil related feature... so does that mean the oil light going off is telling me something else or that it's not supposed to be there at all?!

Sorry for the late response, my original reply got flagged for mod review (idk why).
As far as I can see there is no uj2 code. Or anything else mentioning oil life.
So maybe the oil light I'm seeing is a manufacturer error?

Which of these two clusters is like yours? #1 or #2.
And what is the light telling you to change oil on the cluster?
