just bought a 94 park ave , lovin it so far my concerns are minimal other than there is a leak by the power steering, old owner said there is a "box" undernieth that might need replacing...

also it needs new rear struts, looked undernieth and it looks single and spring is separate??can i do it myself???

also bottom of rear wheel toes out is that because of the strut or out of align??? HELP newbie ..

There is no "box" shape for power steering, not like the "steering box" of the old recirculating ball type that we used to call the steering box. Look underneath to see where the leak is coming from. You will see a rack that attaches to the front wheels via two tie rods. If the rack is leaking at the ends of the tie rods, I'd replace it. It is possible for the DIY to do this job, but not for the faint of heart. I did mine, but it sure wasn't my first job, and it shouldn't be anyone's first job. If you're comfortable safetly dropping the sub frame, have and propertly use torque wrenches, know how to use thread locker, know how to remove a ton of parts and actually know how to put them back together correctly, you may be ready to attempt this job. But it doesn't come without safety warnings. One mistake and the entire front end could come crashing down on top of you.

If you do change the rack, replace it with an ACDelco one, and also replace the pump with an ACDelco one, unless you know for sure the one you are using is good. I used an aftermarket pump because that's all the local parts store had. It's been noisy every since and I do have all the air out.
