2009 Buick Lucerne CXL
I have seen quite a few posts asking about a clicking/ticking sound on this website and many others. However, I did not read any that were exactly like my situation. So I will describe my clicking situation. I bought a 2009 Buick Lucerne CXL a little over a month ago. It's been wonderful so far other than a few issues we have had fixed already. On the evening of the day that I bought the car the A/C stopped blowing cold, and we noticed leaking the passenger side from under dash. Well to shorten this lengthy backstory, we had it taken in several times to have different issues fixed with the A/C. Also the car was running a little sluggish so they replaced throttle body or something like that.

This clicking I heard from the first day I bought it, and I thought maybe it would be resolved after getting the other stuff fixed. Well after the repairs, the sound persists. It's a clicking, or a ticking, that I can only describe as sounding similar to a clock. But there are other dimensions to the sound that's almost like tapping, cranking, and when it happens it has a rythym, it doesn't really stop so it's pretty consistent.

It seems to only happen while the car is running but parked. I can't hear it happening while driving, even if I'm being silent with no radio or noise pollution. So unless it goes very quiet while driving, I don't think it happens much if at all. While parked the noise will happen whether the A/C or heat is blowing. The sound also happens if the A/C and heat are turned off. I've tried different settings. The noise is constant while in the car is parked and running, but the noise can only be heard inside.

It seems to eminate from inside of the middle dash, within it behind the touch screen and A/C controls. I'd just like some suggestions as to what this might be. The A/C has been fixed (multiple parts replaced) both that and the heat work phenomenally. It hasn't posed any problems that I have detected, not mechanical nor electrical. Any input/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for so much detail.

Mine does the same thing and is in the shop now for blend door actuator replacement. I think it will be about $800. I didn't want to tackle it myself. Please do a search in this Lucerne forum for the problem. There is all kinds of good information
