Hi, idk how this happened, honestly must be a spot of real bad luck. My suspension has issues now, got the car into my lot (I live in nyc) to let it sit until I had time to look at it. I go today to look, turn it on as it’s been sitting 1.5 weeks. Nothing, lights come on but no crank. Boost it, still nothing. Check under the car and the nut or whatever that keeps the red wire from the alternator is gone, wire is loose.

Does anyone know the proper name, the size, or part # for the nut? The starter is only a year old so I doubt it’s completely gone bad.

Thank you!

Starter solenoid battery cable nut

Who replaced the starter?
That would be yours truly, did it about a year ago. So my mistake I’m sure that I didn’t get it snugged on well enough.

Would anyone be able to explain if there is something special about this nut? Like does it ground or have something to do with the electricity?

It's a nut that according to you holds the red positive battery cable to the starter solenoid. Nothing to do with ground based on your description and nothing special about it.

Ya that’s what I thought, just checking to make sure there wasn’t something special about it. Thanks
