I took my 2002 Buick LaSabre Custom to get an inspection, it fail for transmission mount and license plate lights were out. I replaced the mount and replaces both bulbs. Still not getting any light even when the head lights are on. I tried to wiggle the wires looking for a loose connection.... no luck. I am thinking about wiring it to the rear parking lights.... what do you think?

Is there any fuses that might be tripped?

Thank for the advice in advance.

I don't think there's any single fuse that controls JUST the license plate light, assuming that all your other lights are working. It's probably already wired to the taillights at some point, so you could try a re-wire but it's possible that the actual bulb socket needs to be replaced. Cheap junkyard part if so.

Have you tried just cleaning the light socket? That may be all it needs. You can also check out the ground wiring in the back. Put a multimeter on the socket with +Red probe on the bottom of the socket and the -Black probe on some bare metal - see if you get 12v then. That will tell you if you have a bad ground or getting no 12v at all.
