2011 Regal Turbo (T03) - 6 sp manual & 2013 Verano Turbo (totalled 9/19)
So I parked the Regal on the street last week so some contractors working on my house could have the driveway. When I went out on the evening to bring the car back in, I noticed the driver mirror folded in - then the mirror cover smashed in the road. I walked over to find the car side-swiped from the front bumper to the driver's door. Almost identical damage to the hit-and-run my wife had on her Verano last summer at work.

I wish people would learn to freaking drive or at least own up to their actions. What peeves me is that this could be a neighbor - or friend of a neighbor. I am ready to just buy a 98 Corolla and not have to give a hoot how it looks.

Sorry to hear that, TurboLover. I had almost exactly the same thing happen to me in '04. I'm getting ready to go on vacation, I come out to my immaculate '86 Mercedes 420SEL (198K miles on it then), and find each body panel on the street side is scarred, including the wheels. The guy parked behind me had lost his outside mirror, too.

It happened that I had a witness who got the license number of the car -- so my insurance company was able to track her down and get my deductible out of her. The car, however, would have cost me more than I could scrape up (no pun intended) to put right again. So I let them total it and I took the money. (Which I still regret. The Benz still drove perfectly, the doors opened and shut without trouble, etc. If I had it to do over, I'd have kept it.)

So hang in there. Everything may work out fine.

Any neighbors with security cameras?

Unfortunately no...I asked around as did the police. So I hold the bag on deductible. I am just PO'd that someone could get away with it. Estimate is $2200so she will go in for repairs in two weeks.

Typical texting while driving sideswipes. Some of these collisions are so severe, they are forced to stop, but others just continue to drive away, oblivious to the damaged they caused & they could care less, because all they have to do is call their insurance company and report a collision claim. Criminals, and fraudulent individuals are all that they are!

This sucks and I am sorry to hear about it.....because my front bumper was swiped too but luckily they were just surface scuffs and I got it out with some ScratchX. But I know the feeling....😡
