rubber cap on the heater hose nipple on the water pump PROBLEM!

A mechanic from the United States wrote to me and told me that the water pump is installed incorrectly, so that plug was put in by the mechanic who is fixing the vehicle and I think he doesn't know what he is doing. Could you tell me what goes there where the plug is in the water pump. because he told me that it can be damaged over time

Should be a hose on there going to the heater core. Why it's blocked I dont know. Maybe the heater core was leaking. It wont do any damage other than no heat in the car when needed.

Well, I live in a Caribbean country, I don't think it's a problem that it gets hot due to the cold. So can I leave it like this? because the mechanic told me that the car could explode 🙂

You can leave it. But sometimes overtime rubber caps may leak. The heater core has two ports in and out. If you want you can take the other hose coming from the core or if its missing you should have a heater hose port on the intake manifold or if its still there a heater control valve with a cap or other hose on it. Re-route that to the water pump and remove the rubber cap

I agree with removing the cap and putting a hose on it that bypasses the heater core. That way, all of the coolant is moving in its designed passages rather than running into a wall.
