I saw another thread here today on the subject of seat memories, and it prompted me to ask about my issue, which is slightly different.
I bought my 2013 new. I have the PEPS remote (passive entry, passive start) and two seat memories. I set the car up right from the start using Memory 1 to store my seat and mirror preferences. I also set it up so that the seat moves back completely when I turn the car off and open the door to make it easier for me to get out of and into the car. The seat is supposed to return to the previously selected memory position upon unlocking and opening the driver's door.
I understand that the memory position it returns to is unrelated to the remote I'm using (my wife has her own remote); i.e., the remote does not store seat memory preferences. I've consulted the manual and a few posts that have appeared here over the years and, by and large, I've been pretty happy with how the system works.
In the fullness of time, I've begun noticing that the seat sometimes does not return to my Memory 1 settings when I unlock to car to get in. In these cases, when I select Memory 1 manually, the settings are not the ones I chose; i.e., the Memory 1 settings had changed. So, I reset Memory 1 and the system works fine for awhile, until it somehow changes Memory 1 again, whereupon I reset and repeat.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Is there a way to "fix" it, or is this one of those "quirks" we just have to deal with. I recoginize my car is 10 years old now and I've had very good luck with it, so I'm loathe to complain about this.
Thanks for any opinions.
