Security Light comes on....Intermittently.....Goes away..... Nothing else happens. Why??

Lately, my security light comes on and then disappears. I hear the chime sound which alerts me to the light on the dash. Ugh..... Another light to view.

(Yes, the proverbial ABS/Brake/Traction Control lights have again reared their ugly heads!) This and a dash that can't decide if it's night or day out.

Not only that... the PRNDL barely lights up... It's so dim I can barely see it.

ANyhow.... Lots of electronic -Lighting gremlins. Just wondering why the need for a "Security" light???

Lastly.... I really like my car. But.... these electronics, crappy bulbs, dash lights are a real pain in the A___!! Miss the older cars with analog gauges. Okay.... that's all.

Check your battery. Computerized cars have issues with seemingly unrelated systems when the battery is on its last legs. When starting the engine, the voltage can be low enough that those other systems don't like it, and they'll tell you about it.

Well...Battery check's out fine. The ONLY thing I can figure-out is if it's related to something I have changed or added to the car .

Looking back.... I did add a phone charger that plugs into the 12V receptacle. That's the only electrical change that has been made.

Perhaps the system sees this as a "security" issue....
