Has anyone else had the service AFL (Adaptive Forward
Lighting) message when starting their car. I occasionally get it for about 1 sec then goes away after headlamps sweep.

The dealer says there are no stored codes.

I had it happen just a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't happened since. I don't think that it's a problem though, just a glitch.

I get it sometimes while driving...

It seems to happen about twice a year so we haven't worried about it.
If it happens while driving and the lamp is out, I've shown the wife how to 'reboot' the lamp by turning the automatic headlamps OFF for about 20 seconds and then turning them back on.
I've had HID lamps in the past and occasionally you don't get a good strike on the bulb. It's not like a filament in those bulbs, more like arc welding.

I took the car back into the dealer today. The message started coming up about 4 times a week or so.

They reprogramed head lamp control module as per bulletin# P10219
