My service engine light came on, and the error code indicates a MAF sensor problem. I've cleaned the MAF sensor (1 year old). The service engine light is still on.

Question: Assuming the MAF sensor problem is fixed, will the service engine light go out automatically after driving the car a while? Or does something also have to be cleared 'manually'?

Thanks for any help!

Have you driven the car for 50+ miles? If so, and the light is still on, I would suspect the 1-yr old MAF took a dump. You can try disconnecting the battery negative cable for a few hours to see if the light goes out, otherwise clear the code with a scanner.
