I have a 2007 with 167k miles. We love this vehicle. We had the rust issues repaired a few years ago and other then this inconsistent issue with the car jamming into first gear when leaving a stop. I know these vehicles have shift solenoid issues. My question is, has anyone figured out where the actual solenoid are (either inside the transmission or exterior) and has anyone figured out how to drive the vehicle with this issue. With the age and mileage of the vehicle I don't want to pay someone $1k + to pull the trans to fix that solenoid issue when I could just replace the actual transmission so my mind set is just keep drivng it until that happens. What I would like to know is has someone found a way to drive the car which helps to stop it from happening. I have been slowly pushing the pedal while I'm moving forward to try to get it to not happen. Or has anyone had them fixed. If so how much did it cost and did the shop have to drop the trans to fix it.

I see no one has replied to your issue on The transmission solenoid replacement. I know nothing and also need an answer. code p1811 Maximum adapt and long shift is the code that comes up after scanning. A reported fix is to replace the automatic transmission pressure control solenoid. Is this an intense fix? I saw a u-tube video describing it was a faulty connector to the solenoid. I'll be damned if I can find the video again. My question is where located and how to fix.

Dunno if it is the same tranny,(?) but for the 04 LeSabre, the 1 - 2 shift can be rough.. (thunk)
To drive around it, I either...(1) push gas a bit and let off until I feel the shift to 2.
Or (2) Accelerate harder, medium throttle... and of course, full throttle acceleration wont do it either.

Best wishes

You probably need to install a TransGo Shift kit.
