hi,
I'm having a problem with my blind spot and rear cross traffic alert
when i start the car , the lights in the mirrors illuminate (like always)
but now i get the "side detection temporarily unavailable"
when i have connected 2 of my obd2 tools to scan for codes
they both found the lsosm(left side object sensor module) with no erros
so i guess there should be right side module but non of them found it

does it mean the right side module is probably dead? (ofc i need to check wiring before and etc)
is it possible to replace it myself or does it require reprograming?

thanks

Hello!
First I would check for dirty sensors - but it could that module is toast.

Mine will come on occationally if I'm driving in a heavy rain. My understanding is that with GM cars, these are common to go back. They get full of moisture then basically rust from the inside. No idea how easy / difficult they are to change.

Look up under the corners of the rear bumper. The SBZA modules are bolted to a small bracket that is bolted to the rear bumper impact bar on both sides, “looking at” the corners of the bumper. Snow, mud, or damage to the bumper or any of its components can all cause this. There is nothing wrong with any of the system components; they just can’t “see” clearly, that’s all. It can take a good amount of driving after clearing them to get the message to go away, too, just an FYI.
